These simulations focus on patients with infections that can quickly become very serious, including sepsis, severe sepsis, and septic shock, along with fever of unknown origin. You will practice recognizing early warning signs such as fever or low temperature, chills, increasing heart rate, low blood pressure, fast breathing, changes in mental status, and concerning lab trends. You will work on choosing the right assessments and safe interventions, including cultures, fluids, antibiotics, oxygen, and when to activate rapid response or higher levels of care. The goal is to help you feel confident identifying worsening infection early so you can act quickly and protect organ function.
-
Toxicology, Overdose & EnvironmentalItem Link
These simulations focus on patients who are sick from medications, substances, or the environment, including acetaminophen toxicity, opioid overdose, and heat related illness. You will practice recognizing important warning signs such as slow or shallow breathing, very low level of consciousness, pinpoint pupils, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, abnormal vital signs, and changes in lab values. You will work on choosing the right assessments and safe interventions, including focused history, medication and substance review, antidotes such as naloxone, fluid support, cooling measures, and when to escalate care or call poison control. The goal is to help you feel calm and prepared when caring for patients with toxic exposures so you can act quickly to support airway, breathing, circulation, and organ function.
-
Post-Op & Surgical Complications / PainItem Link
These simulations focus on patients recovering from surgery who are at risk for bleeding, infection, respiratory problems, uncontrolled pain, and other complications. You will care for patients with issues such as postoperative hemorrhage, wound separation, worsening pain, changes in vital signs, and difficulty breathing after anesthesia or opioids.
